Showing your true colors

Euphorbia emerges deep red, then bursts into a display of chartreuse.

White cherry blossoms turn pink with age

Deep pink crab apple buds open to pure white

Do things ever remain as they first appear?
Do people?

  2. I'm not sure they do. And sometimes it's disappointing but often it's wonderful to uncover and discover all the less immediately obvious multiple facets of a person, isn't it? Even the broken and darker sides can be interesting I think, and add texture and depth to the whole picture - like your lovely bead soups...

  3. I do so agree with Kendalee. Never judge a book by it's cover. And as things/we grow and for that matter change, it can be so very interesting. Never stand still, live and go trough all the changes with your head held high.Discover! I love the way you put the pictures with the words you've chosen.

  4. Very insightful. The very kind of question I would ask.

  5. I would say that it all depends on how accurate a judge of character you are. Sometimes you can see people for what they are despite all pretences, sometimes you simply cannot. It would also depend on the depth of the individual. Some people are deep and they continue growing deeper and deeper with time, other remain at a superficial level and so that will remain for as long as they allow it to.

This question that you have asked got me thinking about the type of people who are part of my life. And I came to the realisation that they are mostly ones who change and every time I meet them, I learn something more, something valuable.

  6. Hopefully, we are evolving as we learn. Change should make us appreciate things more.

  8. Great observation! I noticed for the 1st time, this spring, that my maple tree had RED leaves when they were first appearing. As red as they are in the fall. Now they're a glorious and giant green leaf with no hint of red at all.

  10. Love the photos, and your thoughts.
    Speaking of change,
Yesterday my 5 year old (who is normally very outgoing)and I were approached by a lady in a store. My son got really shy. As we walked out to the car I remarked about how he has never been shy before, and asked what happened. He said matter-a-factly, while shrugging his shoulders, "People change..."
He cracks me up. I love that my 5 year old explains life to me!

  11. Very thought provoking. I can't wait for my garden to start blooming so I can enjoy some colorful blooms in person.
