My new Bead Soup Collection colorway needs a name - any ideas? Tell me your thoughts and your name will be entered in a drawing to win a bead soup!
My whole collection will be at Ben Franklin Crafts in Redmond WA during my trunk show/book signing on Saturday, February 21
Maybe it is the time of year but my first thought was "new orleans mardi gras'. All that purple and gold. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCarribean Reef. These colors transport me to the tropics, the clear blue of the sea, the colorful fish and hint of treasure among the reefs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! My immediate reaction was--oooohh "Arabian Nights" -- it looks so lush. Makes me want to run my fingers through it. CJ
ReplyDeleteJust amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe turquoise is a colour of healing, purple is connected to crown and spirituality, copper is also healing. I think, given this, maye Kali would be good.
ReplyDeleteart expression of Kali healing energy - true healing energy of life-force of Kali
Looks yummy, I think tropical treasure is what it first brought to mind.
ReplyDeleteMy choice is "Alera" – ethereal, luminescent glowing light in the land of fantasies and fairies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color combination. Made me think of "Arabian Nights".
ReplyDeleteSedona.
ReplyDeleteI just love the colours! Polar Aurora! It's the northern lights!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture too!!
Cheers, Denise
Beverly, I just finished reading your newsletter. You do such a wonderful job of sharing so much information with us...thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think the bead soup above reminds me of a desert evening sky....
"Cleopatra's jewel box". The colors remind me of an Ancient Egyptian exhibit I saw this Summer. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous soup, Beverly! I can visualise a voluptuous belly dancer, copper and turquoise jewellery shimmering with every movement. My suggestion is "Belly dance".
ReplyDelete"Aria".
ReplyDeleteOoooooo...cool colors remind of the Rings of Saturn

I still haven't finished all the wonderful notes in your newsletter, but I just had to tell you about my gut reaction to your bead soup. I instantly thought of "Monet's Garden." The colors remind me of the lush flowers and the colors in his paintings. Even his "waterlilies" remind me of this -- because in most of his water lily paintings, they weren't green, but lavender and blue.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought of when I saw that is they are all of my favorites. So my vote is "All My Favorites."
ReplyDeleteSerenity Garden.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are soft and tranquil. Love them.
Oooh purple and turquoise deliciousness - you know this makes me want to dive right in and swim around in it!!! And what excellent suggestions all. This immediately conjured "turkish delight" or "istanbul nights" for me but I think having read the comments I prefer Barbara's "belly dance" (great name!) or maybe "dance of the veils" - definitely something a touch exotic. It's beautiful. You've cooked up your magic again! :)
ReplyDeleteThis bead soup for me turns into a Persian garden. In the garden is a princess. She's wearing beautiful gold jewelry: head band, necklace with turquoise, bracelets, earrings, and rings. She's wearing a flowing garment of lavender and turquoise with some copper accents. She is beautiful. This bead soup is beautifully a Persian Princess.
ReplyDeleteHey Beverly the first thing that pop up in my head was Gipsy Blue...does that ring a bell for you with these colors? Hope you find a good one. See you around my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous colors! For me it resembles something ancient and oriental, like Samarkand treasures.
ReplyDelete"Inca Gold" is the first thing that came to my mind. But I have to admit I really like "Belly Dance"!
ReplyDeleteLove the new soup - I am thinking "Persia" - don't know why but that popped into my head when I saw the photo.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mix! “Sunken Treasure” I immediately thought about water, with the depth of watery blues, bright green blues and deep purples. The gold and coppery treasures remind me of lost pirate booty. Thank you adding A Bit about Photography in your latest newsletter; great tips and I’ll definitely try the mosaic exercise. Sheila M.L.
ReplyDeletePharoh's Treasure...the colors are VERY reminiscent of the beautiful jewelry of the ancient Egyptians...beautiful mix!

It reminds me of Playa del Carmen in the Yucatan for some reason. So my name idea is "Mayan Mystery". Love the turquoise and purple together!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of a beautiful night sky. "Galaxy"
ReplyDeletePurple Passion. It popped into my head.
ReplyDeleteBeverly, your trunk show will be on Saturday and Sunday, February 20 and February 21? I'm confused with dates...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colorway! First thoughts include arabian nights, turkish treasures, but I'm favoring "Sultana's Treasure"
ReplyDeleteGolden Desert Sunrise...golden purples with hints of the perfectly blue aqua and turquoise day that will be coming...
ReplyDelete"A Fairy Godmother's Stash". I don't know. Just feels right;)
ReplyDeleteMay i suggest "Heather" or "Bruyère" as we call it in french, because it reminds me so much the lands we have here in western coasts, like in Ireland.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to everyone, these beads are so gorgeous.
Thank you to share your treasuries and your know-how with us dear Beverly.

I immediately thought of "Atlantis" - the mixture just reminds me of a hidden city of treasures just waiting for someone's creativity to unlock its true potential. :D
ReplyDeletePride if Kashmir? Kashmir Silk ...Silk of Kashmir.... Kashmiri Dream ....Trade Route to India .... Silk Route ....Silk Road .... Incense .... Frankincense Road ....
ReplyDeleteSorry I got carried away :-)
I also thought of sunken treasure and Atlantis came to mind. I go with Mel. Love the new mix.
ReplyDeleteit looks like "gilded sea" to me!
ReplyDelete"passion flower"
ReplyDeleteIt has the same colors of that lovely bloom I've seen in Hawaii ....
and the feel of warm soft air and a slight salt taste to it
The color combination has a real exuberant, exhilarating feeling to it for me and the first work that came to mind was "Thrills".
ReplyDeleteReally great collection Beverly!
Reminds me of "Pirate Loot"!
ReplyDeleteLots of good suggestions already have been posted, but I'll add mine anyway. I like A Maiden's Treasure Chest -- copper, not gold, and bright cheerful colors -- and Dancing Across The Milky Way. The only suggestion I did not care for was Northern Lights because, in my experience, most auroras predominate in light greens, whites, and reds.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors. I'm not sure if this has to do with yesterday's game or marde gras, but my suggestion is "Orleans." Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteAs I was walking at lunch, I decided I liked Scherezade's Treasures.
ReplyDeleteNancy S.
I don't know exactly why, but it feels very Moroccan to me but still more evening-ish sooooo - "Moroccan Moonbeams" is my suggestion!
ReplyDeleteSo many ideas that popped in my head are already taken. How about "treasure chest"? Or decadent desire....? Beautiful colors and so very very rich.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that I thought of was "Treasure Chest", or "Jewels of the Sea". The colors are awesome!
ReplyDeleteCleopatra came to mind - whatever you end up calling it - it's stunning!
ReplyDelete~Lynn
The turquoise blues and coppery browns remind me of the sea, and the purples are very regal looking - like a princess' bedroom. How about "Thalassa" or "Amphitrite"?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like "aztec treasure to me LOL. Turquoise and copper.
ReplyDeleteAs always, a wonderful mix
i just want to touch the fabrics. hold them to my cheeks and feel the textures against my bare skin. the cold beads too. i want to take in their colour.
ReplyDeleteoooo...that translucent turquoise is just luscious. I think of a Moroccan wedding - a celebration of culture and color!
ReplyDeleteThe colours instantly reminded me of fairy floss or cotton candy as it is called in the US... so the name I choose is "Fairy Floss Dreams".
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win this gorgeous bead soup!
