She Blew the Audience Away

Her solo performance spoke to our soul

The Kamiakin Middle School jazz band wowed the audience with 'Harlem Nocturne' at the Frontier Jazz Festival. From the deep heart beat of the drums to the dips and slides of the trombones to the trills of the sax section, every player in this really young band (half are 6th graders!) had us on the edge of our seats.

My son's best buddy and fellow sax player is only 14 - I can't wait to hear her in high school and beyond!!

Feeling Good - I'm One Proud Mama!

'Feeling Good':  arrangement by Michael Buble
Performed by:  Kamiakin Middle School Jazz Band
Directed by:  Ward Brannman

Solo: Brandon Gilbert (7th Grade)

To say I'm proud is an understatement!
His growl at about 3 minutes blew me away - who knew he had THAT in him!

p.s. Disney was the theme that day, hence the Pluto hat and Micky ears!
