Grandma loved roses so much that my mother would gather bouquets for her birthday, one rose for each year. Imagine 90, 91, 92, 93 roses... Out in my garden beside my roses, I'm with my grandma.
I gave my youngest the middle name Rose because it was my Mammaw's favorite flower -- pink roses. We have a Fairy rose planted outside my baby's bedroom window. In a month, it will be full of tiny pink blooms. Unfortunately, I only have one other rose bush -- it takes a lot to get them to root here. Yours are gorgeous!
My grandmother is responsible for my love of gardening, so I can totally relate. These pictures are outstanding, Beverly. I'm drooling over their lusciousness - both color and texture. Hugs, Terri
Beautiful, especially those pink ones. I love roses and raised tea roses when I still lived at home with my folks. We have a little bush here at our current house, but it's not quite the same, although it smells divine. And one of my future daughters' names (if I'm so lucky to have daughters) will be Rosalie, after this lovely flower; the other daughter will be Violet :)
93 roses! How wonderful! My mum loved roses and whenever she visited anyone even if it was just for a few minutes she would cut a rose or more from her garden to take with her. Just Joey was a favourite.
Sink deeply into memories of Grandmothers my friend. Those were the day....I can imagine myself the big bouqets of roses....93! Wauwzers. Enjoy every single on of them.
And sweet thought from me to you for your blessing words on my blog. You're in my heart.
What a gorgeous spectrum of colours! There is something so delicious about roses and my Nana loved them too. The fragrance in your garden must be sublime!
Beverly, I love these garden pictures. I've been looking at so many flowers lately, and I sure wish I was in your garden...seems so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'd love a stroll through your garden. So many lovely treasures! Third one down looks a lot like Abraham Darby.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to keep connecting with your grandmother this way!
ReplyDeletecan i come over and lie on your lawn and drink in the heavenliness of all the flowers that would surround me in your garden?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of beautiful roses! Gardens and Grannies seem to go together...I think of mine often when I'm out in the garden.
