Beverly....how good (and fitting) of you to send out a fun purple post to the world...the gray skies are not as gray is they were a minute ago... btw - what is the name of the purple berries?
Joie, those very purple (almost unreal) berries are Beautyberry (Callicarpa). The bush is rather unexciting in the spring and summer, but the berries in fall and winter make it a fabulous focal point outside our living room window.
Those purple berries are spectacular - I have never seen any berries like that before. I too have been seeing colour in my garden today (just about to post my pics) Kristin :)
Beautiful post, Beverly. I love the two top pics especially. First that unreal berry and then the soft luscious tones of the Rhododendron. A delightful double header.
I am a brand new addict to your blog ... Love this post and am eagerly anticipating the book. Can't wait to try your form of free-form bead-weaving. Love the new bead soup with hints of green. (I love me some green.) Just made a green hat with purple flowers.
Funny for us in HK...our winter seasons is the good weather season. Sun is out all the time, the weather isn't meltingly hot. But, somehow, this is when the dreary greys show up in fashion. My friend pointed this out last year and I'm noticing the shop windows are getting dressed in the same drab colors again this year. Need to do something about that.
Hi there my friend. Never occured to me to put these pictures together because I too have one of a flower that purple wich is blooming still. Maybe I'll put it in one of my next post. I'll send your love to the guys and they all smiled. Hugs me.
I was just writing and thinking about grays and how colorful they are too! I love them.
HUGE congrats on the book!! It looks beautiful, and I am sure will make a wonderful gift. You must be so proud and feel such accomplishment I can't imagine.
And, Huge congrats on the house delivery too!! It looks truly amazing and rejuvenating there. I hope you get lots and lots of time there.
I love love love your Hydrangas...their deep blues that wash to purple and fuschia...and fade to that softish sage and lavendar...well...I could go on...
You are an amazing artist, Beverly--I love the way you group images! Thank you for these lovely purples and for the rain pics from the previous post, too.
