Nuno Felt in Neutral Shades

A commissioned Nuno Felt Shawl - in neutral colors (oh how tough for me!)
Here are 3 different ways to wear it

We're going to spaaaaace!

(a note from my son)
"We're going to spaaaaace!
Not actually, but we are launching a liquid fueled rocket that's currently being designed and built by fellow students and I. We're entered in a contest that takes place in Utah in June, but we need your help to get it there! Everything is greatly appreciated, and please share it around and let your friends know.
Thank you!"

Below are some test fires:

Please support these Amazing High School students (my son included!) who have designed and built a rocket through an internship with Aeroject/Rocketdyne! They are the only high school team to compete in a prestigious intercollegiate competition this spring in Utah. They have set up a 'GoFundMe account to finance the fuel and materials to complete their project and take their entry to the launch. Below is a link to their 'GoFundMe' campaign - any amount of donation is greatly appreciated!

College Tours - Colorado Boulder and Oregon State

When I was a graduating senior - it never occurred to me to look outside of my state for colleges.
Not so with this generation - the world is their playing field and within each of the universities we looked at, are opportunities to study abroad.

Here is a snapshot of our whirlwind tour of University of Colorado Boulder and Oregon State University (my hubby's alma mater):

Sunset and mountains out our hotel window in Boulder CO

Can't beat a city bus from college campus to ski resort! Eldora mtn only 18 miles out of Boulder!

Fabulous restaurants along Pearl Street in downtown Boulder. Loving the food and decor in this one: Wild Standard
Tough to beat this outdoor eating area! Dining hall on CU campus.

Early morning walk along Pearl Street (downtown Boulder) before the crowds

Farewell to the stunning Flat Irons! Photo from downtown Boulder bus station. (The boys hiked up to the dip between the 2 on the right)

Hello to Oregon State University!

Oooo aaahhhh! The engineering building using sustainable design

Can you find him?!

Another gorgeous campus with a top notch mechanical engineering school and close to campus outdoor activities! Oh the choices!

Use of Artwork

What do you do when someone asks to use your image / your artwork for free?

Every time I get this request, I squirm a bit and have a battle with myself - trying to balance my very real need to make a living with my natural tendency to share what I have with others.

On the one hand, fearful that once it is out there, others may not treat my work with integrity (once I send a high res photo, I have lost control and have consequently had images used for profit - by someone else). On the other hand, thrilled yet humbled by the interest, the potential exposure, the networking opportunities and the desire to connect with others and spread goodwill.

What do you do when someone asks you for a freebee in your business?

Is there a time when it is a win-win?

I would love to hear your thoughts below!
