Enough already!

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Pacific NW gal and love the rain and clouds - the coziness, the time for creative endeavors, good books, cups of tea. However it's supposed to be May! And even I am getting a bit tired of this relentless rain - week after week.

I have been introducing photography in the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade classes, and because of end-of-the-year activities, I had to combine classes last week... perfect for outdoor photography on the playground.

But rain wasn't on my agenda.

Just picture 52 8-10 year olds traipsing through the school hallways cameras in hand...

Followed on their heals with 50 11-12 year olds.

They had a ball...

I am still exhausted!

p.s. I'll see if my sons will share their photos with you some time...

  1. Your macros are awesome, but it's the thought of all of those cameras and kids that's making me smile today. How wonderful that you have an opportunity to teach them to 'see'! They're so lucky to have you as a teacher, Beverly! Hugs, Terri xoxo

PS I hope the sun shines s-o-o-n!

  2. I wondered to hear, that it is raining all over the world. I thought it is only so cold and unfriendly wheather in Europe during May, unbelievable. I posted recently, "finally sunshine", beecause I was so glad to go again into the garden. But now it's raining again.

One of my sisters is also teacher in art, I will tell her from your idea, to go outside with the pupils and to teach the seeing by photography.

I know your blog because your book, which I bought it recently, very inspiring to me. Flowers and colours are so important for the soul!

  4. I absolutely know the feeling...Manchester is SOOOO rainy...we all got very excited last weekend - possibly the most stunning weather I have known in Manchester since I moved here 10 years ago - but of course, by Wednesday the pouring rain had returned! Bank holiday Monday today and it's grey and dreary outside again. Pot of tea it is!
