And the Winner is...

Thank you for all of the lovely name suggestions for my latest artwork - your notes, and all of the lovely meanings you drew from my piece warm my heart!

I poured through hundreds of facebook comments, blog posts and email ideas and the decision was really tough - so many fabulous titles! Your ideas have given me so much inspiration for new pieces!

As a thank you, I am offering a 30% off discount on some of my most popular matted prints (as well as prints of my newest painting)!  Click HERE for Print Special

The title I ended up choosing brings to mind the elements that danced in my head when I painted this piece:
Music
Dance
Moonlit night
Giving and Sharing

Moonlight Serenade

(Have you listened to Carly Simon's rendition of the Glen Miller song - so lovely!)

A number of people suggested this, so I put your name in a hat and drew...

Congratulations to
Kaye Davis
I'll be sending you a batch of greeting cards and a mouse pad!
(please email me your address!)

Favorite Color? (Blog Hop Winners)

COLOR
How can I choose a favorite?
Each day is a different mood
And each hue fills me with deep emotions
But for today - as I get ready to climb up on a ladder and paint our entry-way a deep, heathered teal...

I have to admit that the lovely range of colors between green and blue make me smile.

What is your favorite color... at least for today?

Thank you all for swirling through colors with me this last week.
I have loved being a part of this wonderful group of artists who have inspired me to run outside in this cold, rainy December and take pictures! (though admittedly my photos are a bit dark in this cool, grey light).

Here are the lovely winners* (Drum Roll Please):

Wednesday (December 7): Barb Mahle (Anonymous)
Thursday (December 8): Valerie (Hot Art)
Friday (December 9): Sally Anderson (Wild Sally Road)
Monday (December 12): ChrisD
Tuesday (December 13): Pamela (Bailey in a Box)
Wednesday (December 14): Mari (Mis Amores)

*Please e-mail me with your e-mail address so I can send you the
pdf of DIP INTO COLOR!

Your comments have filled my cup and as a thank you, I am offering a SPECIAL DEAL on my eBook: DIP INTO COLOR through tomorrow (6:00 pct). Take a peek here.

Thank you again - I hope your Holidays are filled with color and warmth and music!

What is white really
A hint of color peeping through a veil
Soft
Serene
Often overlooked, overshadowed

Frosty Morning Blues (another Blog Hop day!)

I hope your weekend was lovely!
We had clear, frosty mornings up on the island - what a beautiful get-a-way.

I was a felting maniac (guess what everyone's getting for Christmas?!) as the kids pieced puzzles, read by the fire and bundled up for walks on the beach - one of the perks of no internet!

The gorgeous sunrises, and frosty coating on every blade of grass and dried seed pod in our wild garden, sung with indigo and gold - a rich Split Complementary from the Warm Earthtone Color Wheel.

Orange Hot! (another Blog Hop day)

Tangerine Tango - the 2012 Pantone Color of the Year
A reddish orange and right down my alley!!

Heat it up with Hot Pink and Yellow:

Or tone it down with it's complementary Blue:

Flow into purple (and wear it with the 3rd part of the triad - green!!):

I know orange isn't for everyone... however if you want to do a bit of Tango, then pop just a hint of orange (can be a muted earthy shade) into some cool blues and greens:

Or surround it with other colors that look better against your skin:
