When it Rains it Pours

Our basement flooded yesterday.

They say things come in sets of 3:
"omne trium perfectum"

I didn't mention my husband's car breaking down the night after our robbery, because at the time it seemed the least of our worries.

But universe - please note that we have now been presented with a set of 3 this week.

So we are done here right?

  1. Beverly, I've been following your blog for quite some time, and it makes me so sad that someone stole your gorgeous work. I loved your book, Beaded Colorways, and I'm sure what they took were pieces made from your very talented heart. When I was in my early 20's, I had all of my poetry stolen. I confess, I have not written anything significant since then, and have developed an aversion to writing because of my (irrational) fear that it will be stolen again. I know this won't happen to you with your beadwork, but I just repeated the story to let you know that I know how much it hurts. I think it's time the universe turns elsewhere for its entertainment and shines its sense of humor on another, more deserving victim. My sympathies and support to you.

    1. Mary, I am so sorry about your experience and I understand completely the fear of creating more only to have it violated, or taken away. I'm hoping I'll get beyond that fear at some point. And I hope you do too.

As a result of all of this, I am triple backing up my computers so I don't loose my books, my instructions, my photos.

  2. Wishing you a brighter tomorrow. (And I hope you find whoever stole your beadwork. Beadwork is so personal........)

  3. OMG. I'm so sorry you are having these problems. It does seem as though things actually happen in threes. I hope that is the end of the bad for you! I also believe that what goes around comes around. The person(s) who stole Mary's poetry and your jewelry don't have brighter days ahead. Both of you please remember they can't steal your talent and knowledge and can only steal your passion if you let them.

    1. Thank you Connie! I want you to know that for Thanksgiving, I've set up a bead corner next to the puzzle in the middle of the living room. I won't ever reproduce what was stolen, but I will create new pieces that make me smile.

  4. Hello sweetie, it has to stop right here right now. Tell Jerry he can have my car for the time being ;0 and if you need strong arms to empty your basement (even all the heavy stuff) I'm there to help you all out.
Be well my friend. Hugs to the boys.
