Seaweed and Seaglass and Seashells

I walk slowly along the beach
head down, eyes glued for little treasures
Seagulls crying overhead, playing hopscotch with me
The salty smell and lapping waves of Puget Sound
are home to me

  2. These treasures are lovely! Amazingly the seaweed in the centre row, extreme right, looks exactly like the staghorn's fern growing on the oil palm in my garden. I wonder if nature has two of everything - one for land and one for sea. Also the remains of the shell indicate ribs which I have never seen before, remarkable. But the seaglass is special. How old might it be to have this wonderful frosted look? It's time I head for our beach too, that is the other side of the Atlantic from yours and find my own treasures. It's just a good thing I am not envious!!!

  6. Ohhhhh.....the only word I can come up with is SILENCE! That is what you made me with these fabulous pictures. And those lines below are stuning. If only I could have walked with you looking for treasures. I always love to do that. Have a great day.

  7. Exquisite! I've never been to Puget Sound but I am pretty sure I'd love it if these are the treasures it offers up. Those colours and textures!

And I'm so glad you got to take your heart home - hearts need that.

  8. Give my love to Puget Sound - it is such a beautiful area. I spent a few days in Seattle with some lovely people nearly 20 years ago and will never forget it. Your images are so evocative and I love beachcombing too. I always want to bring home great quantities of driftwood!

  9. Sometimes I miss the ocean enough that it almost hurts to breathe. But then I look up, at 'my mountains', and know I'm home. Still, it would be nice to visit....
