Vibrant Orange
tiger lilies dance with passion
pods of pollen
like chocolate treats
sway above the sea of orange
calling all bees
I brought in 6 pots of these exotic flowers to school yesterday - 100 students painted them. Close-up, broad strokes, mixing their own colors and adding whatever background struck their fancy. Imagine a whole wall...
Oh, how I love orange!

Hi Beverly. lovely photos.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend
Orange rocks---and goes with EVERYTHING :}
ReplyDeleteHey Morgan, what a great painting. Love it. I'll bet you remembered my hair when you were working on it?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend. Hugs from me.
Orange makes my heart sing!!! And orange lilies doubly so. It tends to be one of those colours that people react strongly to one way or another. I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous subject for a class painting project Beverly - and what a gorgeous interpretation by Morgan. Clearly creative genes are strong ones! Who could not be uplifted when looking at a wall of these?
Everything here is so beautiful. I can see what an amazing teacher you must be, and I would love to take one of your classes! I was looking through the kid art on your website, too - my class is just about to do the symmetry unit in math, so I will definitely try out the name symmetry project! I'm so happy to reconnect with you here!
ReplyDeleteanother big hug,
lulu
I like lilies. Morgan did a good job-much better than I could.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photo and project. I bet the children had great fun painting them. We may glimpse beauty as we rush through our daily lives but it's only through trying to capture it on film or by drawing or painting it that I actually stop and look properly.
ReplyDeleteI can see from the background that you were teaching about complementary colours, too!
tiger lilies are amazing! as is the talent of that little artist.
ReplyDeletepods of pollen! wow. i love that phrase.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post, photograph, and project with the children!
ReplyDeleteMMMMM.... your bead soups look most delicious!
